2009/2010 Season Recap! 03/16/2010
My first season as a Skeleton athlete and Olympic hopeful is finished. What an adventure! This season I spent the winter months in Lake Placid, NY and Park City, UT learning the two tracks that are available to me in the United States. While training in Lake Placid, I was offered housing at the US Olympic Training center where I had the opportunity to live and train alongside US Olympic team members as they prepared for the Vancouver Olympics! A season highlight was acting as a "brake man" for Steve Holcomb (newly crowned gold medalist) in his two man sled as he prepared for the games. Feeling the rush as the two of us glided down the track at 80mph - a million dollar experience. Knowing that a World Champion was in the driver's seat and keeping me safe - priceless. Now I'm back in Orange County, Ca training hard for next season. I'll be focusing on my sprinting and flexibility with the goal of being the fastest starter on the team. Stay tuned! - TJ CommentsDAD Wed, 17 Mar 2010 08:45:07 We are proud of you son. Aunt Jody Thu, 18 Mar 2010 08:45:59 I'm proud of you too TJ! Haha but I use my Speed and Explosiveness to my advantage. I was hoping if you could email me back about your experience and tips at the camp. Thank you. Leave a Reply |
